The maintenance control department’s function is to plan and execute all aspects of maintenance for the managed fleet. The department coordinates and moderates the performance of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on company-owned and managed aircraft.
Maintenance Controllers (MC) may be delegated the authority to carry out any or all of the following tasks:
Projects scheduled maintenance needs for the coming 6-12 months.
Maintains mission readiness as the primary point of contact for unscheduled maintenance events
When unscheduled occurrences happen, the MC will work with the flight crew to troubleshoot the issue.
If the discrepancy cannot be corrected the MC will work with the flight crew to defer the item.
If the item is non-deferable, the MC will work with the crew to write up the discrepancy and notify the flight control department of the aircraft’s status and projected RTS.
